Mastering Accents – Part Two

May 13th – June 24th, 2019

Mondays, 6:30pm – 8pm

Want to deepen your knowledge of accent study? Have specific accents you’d like to pick up? Have difficulty being understood? Want to be able to sound fluent in other languages? Always being asked to repeat yourself?

This class is a detailed second step into accent work. Building on Part One, and based firmly in Knight-Thompson speech work, the course trains your ear, deepens your awareness, and increases your proficiency at acquiring accents. We will go over specific accents chosen from the participants in the class – a total of 3! We will also spend time looking at the elements of accent as we study each new sound. By the end, you will have an excellent working knowledge of how to apply the tools we use in class to acquiring accents on your own. You will begin to feel very independent in accent acquisition and will be better understood when speaking foreign languages. This class is for anyone wishing to understand their (or others) speech and become more proficient at accents.

Completion of Part One, or having taken private sessions with me for at least two months, is a pre-requisite to taking this course. If you aren’t sure if you qualify, contact me to see!

Class size is kept very small. Register early to guarantee a spot.
