Chakras are energy centers in the body that are part of the neuroendocrine system. We will explore the unique properties of the 7 chakra system and how we can use the energy they provide to authentically speak from different perspectives – authority, creativity/desire, will/instinct, love, truth, knowledge, and wisdom.
Using physical opening exercises, yin yoga, Destructuring (Fitzmaurice Voicework), breath, sound, mantra, and visualization, we will get the energy of the chakra into the voice. Using the same piece of memorized text participants will explore the rich variety of intention the message will convey each time.
The neuroendocrine system is quite powerful and sensitive. It doesn’t take much to open up its power and let our voices become infused with the qualities each chakra provides. Done skillfully, it is very satisfying to be able to speak from different perspectives. Finally, the complexities of what is in a single poem, mantra, or message can be present in our delivery.
Use these techniques to increase your expressivity, open up your ability to greater speak your truth, get out of your head when speaking, and find the unique quality of power in your voice.
