Grounded Vocal Presence
May 19th – June 23rd, 2021
Wednesdays – 5:30 – 7pm
Eastwoods Park – in Austin
Do you often feel ungrounded, nervous, or hesitant to be present? Do you feel you come on too strong? Do you go unnoticed? Does this get heightened when speaking? Do you feel you live fully in your Voice? Are you able to share your full meaning in communication with ease? Or do you sense that something has gotten cut off?
Sometimes a difficult time in life triggers the retreat from presence. More often, it is a learned survival technique that begins to not serve well. That is when we know we must begin to change. It is our birthright to be seen and to be heard. It is what we all want most and it is, ultimately, what we all fear.
In this age of technology, we are increasingly losing our ability to be present. This has been compounded for many of us as our usual daily routines were disrupted from the pandemic. We are reintegrating. This class will help us to interact with the world from a place that is authentic and easeful. The body, breath, mind, and voice all hold keys for us to find our way back to a state of presence. The key is inside us. All we have to do is know where to look and how to use what we find.
We will meet for 6 weeks out doors at Eastwood Park. Each class builds on the last with readings and simple assignments to do in between. Each week you will gain tools to use in your everyday life to begin to feel your connection with the world again. The work is accessible, challenging, grounded, and complete. It is appropriate for all skill levels and for all professions.
Class size is kept very small. Register early to guarantee a spot.
