“I feel like I’m delivering the workshop that I really envisioned.”

As a yoga and meditation teacher, I wanted to bring a certain warmth and connection to my classes that I felt was missing. (They don’t really teach presentation skills of that nature in yoga teacher training.) I met with Melissa in her charming “tree house” in Austin and got exactly what I was hoping for. That turn of phrase that clicked on the light bulb for me. Two weeks later, when I taught my yoga and meditation workshop, The Art of Letting Go, I felt much more connected to my students. Much warmer and approachable than I ever had been before. Her guidance was exactly what I needed to deliver my workshop in a way that made me feel proud and energetically engaged.
I am so grateful that I met and worked with Melissa one-on-one! I feel lighter, more at-ease and I’ve gotten wonderful feedback from my students on the tenor of my voice. And, of course, I feel like I’m delivering the workshop that I really envisioned.

“I highly recommend her to anyone looking to feel more empowered and confident vocally.”

Working with Melissa is empowering vocally. She is precise and scientific with the details of the voice. I love the way we are approaching General American. Breaking down all the individual movements of the articulators first to better understand what is going on inside our mouths moment to moment in speech, but also adding in vocal technique pointers for general speech. I highly recommend her to any performer or anybody looking to feel more empowered and confident vocally.

Thanks Melissa!!

From the first moment you walk into her class, Melissa makes you feel welcomed and safe. She has a warm and gracious manner which feels like a big smiling hug. Once settled, be prepared to unleash old patterns and soar into new ones.

Melissa is the full vocal professional. She has been invaluable
in my life. Whether I’m looking to unlock my authentic voice or
develop a regional or period character she is up to the challenge. It seems there is no limit with her. Everyone is unique, and Melissa understands, respects, and works from that place. She has a deep intuition to lead you to discover and, most importantly, fully understand every goal your going after. Then it’s yours to carry to the trailer, the set, or wherever you are headed! “I recommend Melissa to anyone seeking to feel more grounded and at home in their lives.”

Melissa Grogan is an inspired teacher who shares her energy openly and with compassion. I have practiced yoga for two decades, and in two courses with Melissa, was delighted to learn new ways of being in my body and accessing the power we all have within. I use what I learned daily to live a more embodied life as a mom and teacher. The work she shares is deep and powerful–I recommend Melissa to anyone seeking to feel more grounded and at home in their lives.

“Melissa is giving me a set of skills for life. There is nothing hit or miss about this approach.”

Like learning any language or skill that requires time and effort, the “grammar” or rules of that language are a huge component of learning it successfully.
In teaching me the techniques (or “grammar”) of accent learning, Melissa is giving me a set of skills for life. There is nothing “hit or miss” about this approach. It is technical, sound and playful, and the more I train with her the more I realize I am on the path to a robust understanding and use of vocal posture and accent learning that I can continue to learn and apply (and grow in) all my life. Thank you Melissa.

“It wasn’t until I first met Melissa Grogan as a young and aspiring artist, actor, and musician that I realized what the voice was.”

My mother always told me,”You have a voice son.” I never understood what she ever meant by that. I just always had something to say and I thought she meant that I was pestering her and all the other people who I didn’t agree with. Youth! It wasn’t until I first met Melissa Grogan as a young and aspiring artist, actor, and musician that I realized what the voice was, what it meant for me personally, how I could control it, and how I can use it.
Having a powerful, resonate, and expressive voice is much more than sounding pretty. It is a connection between mind, body, and soul that is manifested in every sound that we make. It is listening, breathing, and carefully supporting your instrument. I trained in her classes for several years and still do when needed. She helped me understand how to bring my presence into my voice and allow that presence to be a free, malleable, and receptive force.
Not only has she brought out my voice, but she has shared her own with me. She has shared her personal story, her journey through life. She and I seem to meet at life’s crossroads and those meetings are always empowering and loving experiences.
Honest. I can tell you with a full heart and powerful voice, Melissa Grogan is a great teacher, mentor, healer, and, even more so, an amazing friend.
My Spirit Mother.

“Melissa helped ground and interlock my vocal and physical movement.”

I was very intimated to do a proper 18th century English accent for my first play. Melissa helped me get there in just a few sessions. She was very kind, patient, and non-judgmental of my questions and interpretations. My favorite part of our session was incorporating yoga and breathing with the dialogue. This helped ground and interlock my vocal and physical movement. If you are looking for a dialect coach in central Texas, look no further than Melissa Grogan.
